Associate Professor, Hirao School of Management, Konan University.

After graduating from the Faculty of Science at Kyoto University and completing the Graduate School of Public Policy at the same university, he entered the Graduate School of Economics at Keio University, where he has since been engaged in empirical analysis of social security, particularly microeconomic analysis of health and medicine.

His previous research has focused on health inequalities and the cyclical relationship between socio-economic status and health.

In the past, he was part of a project under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, where he was in charge of empirical analysis for many years, and also served as an external committee member regarding the ‘healthcare points’ system, which awards points for improving lifestyle habits.

He was an assistant professor at the Faculty of Economics of Toyo University and Kyoto Sangyo University before assuming his current position.
