WKC supports regional efforts to build research about health disasters for the ASEAN Network

The WHO Centre for Health Development (WHO Kobe Centre – WKC) is building strong partnerships with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to support the regional network in research methodology on Health Emergency and Disaster Risk Management (Health EDRM).

The new ASEAN Institute for Disaster Health Management (AIDHM) invited Dr Ryoma Kayano, Technical Officer of WKC, to deliver an online lecture on health disaster research methodology. Dr Kayano shared innovations, latest trends, and challenges in research methodology and shared the WHO Guidance on Research Methods for Health and Disaster Risk Management. He emphasized the importance of active regional partnerships among researchers, practitioners, and students interested in deepening their understanding and knowledge in the field. He affirmed WKC’s contributions to strengthening country research capacity.

WKC conducts research and promotes its uptake to ensure that more people will be better protected from the health impact of emergencies and disasters at all levels of society.
