A focused research agenda to influence policy and practice in home management of malaria

Overview

In May 2000, the Task Force on Malaria Home Management, plus some 30 invitees from universities, research institutions, Roll Back Malaria, the WHO Regional Office for Africa, and UNICEF, met to reassess and update the research agenda for malaria home management.

The group identified research gaps, selected areas where TDR has a comparative advantage, and developed draft calls for proposals. Priorities were also identified for strengthening appropriate research capacity. The outcome of the meeting - detailed in this report - was a well-defined research agenda for improving malaria home management.
